Class 1 and 2 children have been taking part in a special, new assembly on Tuesdays. They join together in the morning to celebrate the Student of the Week awards.
The awards encourage students to think carefully and make good decisions about their behaviour in school and their learning. Students who make extra effort to improve in some way are chosen by the teachers and presented with a certificate and a Presidency High School – Student of the Week pencil.
Teachers have said that the awards are helping to motivate and engage their classes; students are working harder and make positive changes. For example – Deepthi from Almonds received her award for trying hard to get involved with classroom activities. Harshith from Ladybirds made a huge effort to improve his behaviour and writing this week.
In the third term, Class 3, 4 and 5 will also be joining in with the awards and having their assembly on Wednesdays.
