There was an extremely intrepid camp for the students during the 1st term holidays. It was Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) camp held by Rotary Club of Nizamabad in Navyabharati Global School on 10th, 11th and 12th October, 2018 with great enthusiasm.
RYLA’s intent is to encourage students to be more effective leaders. RYLA is not a camp intended to teach just leadership skills however the following topics naturally arose during the course of RYLA activities and discussions. The RYLA camp was for 3 days and 2 nights long with presentations, activities and workshops that covered a variety of aspects including,
- Fundamentals of leadership
- Ethics of positive leadership
- Qualities of a leader
- Importance of communication skills
- Conflict management and problem solving
- Building self-esteem and self-confidence
- Elements of community and global citizenship
There were many demonstrations, seminars and competitions were conducted. One of the producers from tollywood Bibo srinivas was a special guest on the first day of RYLA. He demonstrated 24 different crafts in the movie and also organized a script writing competition.
First day was spent by students with demonstrations, cultural programmes, and team building games. The other two days flew away by youth activities like:
- Rock climbing
- Zip line
- Tent Pitching
- Horse Riding
- Fun team building Games
- Star Gauging
- Trekking Expedition
- Raft Building Activity
- Australian Walk
- Tarzan Swing
- Assault Games
- Crawl through the braw wire
Rappelling, Rock climbing, Jummaring ,Archery, Tent pitching, Horse Riding, Raft Building venue were performed at Alisagar and Trekking was done in the Mamidipally forests with great team spirit. Other Fun team building games were held at N.G.S.
PHS students also actively participated in this great adventurous event and had an overwhelming experience.
Hemanth from IX Einsteins who was a part of RYLA said that he was glad to be a part of RYLA for having such a great exploration of himself. Sriyas from IX Darwins rejoiced that he had a great time through making new relationships and developing his team building skills. Sahisnav from IX Newtons had mind blowing experience and bonding with RYLA.
Srivardhan from NGS said that he had a great opportunity to spread leadership into his soul through RYLA.
Every young teen in the RYLA engaged exceptionally and was exposed to fundamentals of leadership and outbound youth adventure activities. Rotary club highly appreciated the active and energetic participation of the students.
