A trip to the model village

On 3 January 2019, as part of the field trip, students of 9th standard visited Ankapur village – famous for its agricultural practices and seeds.  There the children learnt about different agricultural practices, different types of ecosystems, irrigation processes, etc.  On this trip, children experienced and expressed different kinds of emotions like happiness, sadness, excitement, and disappointment.

Our students have done a lot of field investigations by walking through the fields.  They met elderly people in the old age home, had a visit to the domestic animal shed (cows and buffaloes), met a farmer, and not only one, but numerous exciting things were done during the visit.

Durga Preetham of IX Newtons said that he had learnt many new things. Roopak Sai of IX Newtons expressed that he enjoyed field investigations by walking through the fields and Payal Daliya of IX Einsteins added that plucking of turmeric and view of spraying weedicides was a wonderful experience.

Not only students but also teachers who have visited the village enjoyed and learnt many things.  They were involved completely in the visit and were equally enthusiastic as the children.  Venkatesh sir who supervised the trip said, “I enjoyed the journey in the bus with children.”  Pawan sir and Sowjanya teacher expressed, “Avoiding fertilizers, using natural manure, consuming groundwater is an excellent idea.”

The trip had a sad phase also.  Children were really touched by the way elderly people were living in an old age home.  After listening to the experiences of children about old age home, Khan Sir gave a message that parents are our life and we should give them what they expect from us, though they don’t expect anything for themselves – and right now they expect us to become good students by studying well, by being disciplined and by learning good morals.

Our students of Presidency believe that discipline is the key to success and have successfully completed the trip in a disciplined manner and got good compliments from the farmers.

This trip by the 9th standard students of Presidency High School was one of the most informative trips.  It remains as a memory for the students.  We hope similar more trips improving the life skills of the children to be made in future.

The reason why we choose Presidency school is that it has the best curriculum and is implemented in ways other school fail to. “My child feels very happy and is very enthusiastic to attend the school.

We were looking for a school with a higher teacher student ratio. The curriculum is very well structured, we are impressed with tracking the progress of pupils everyday.

Students have a stress free environment here. It has developed my Daughters confidence levels and she is more independent now.
