It’s time to know more about our historical monuments built by Rashtrakutas. To throw some light on Indian modern history, we took our students of class 5 to an ancient fort called Quilla located in suburbs of Nizamabad, which was built by kings of the 10th century.
Our students were inquisitive to learn about our ancient history and culture. They were amazed to see the architecture of the monument. They also observed different materials used for its construction. Students were excited to see the temple and the prison and few tombs in the fort. It happened to be known that the fort was once a mosque, then converted to a prison and currently, it has Lord Ram’s temple and sees a lot of devotees visiting the place. A description of the king, his dynasty and the fort were detailed by the teachers.
One of the students shared ”I felt very sad to see how people were given punishments in prison”. By visiting the monument of culture, students got familiarised about ancient history and its heritage.
