Cooperation and coordination are one of the most important aspects of life necessary to live in a peacefully in a society. With a view to teach our students the necessary life skills, we at Presidency conducted monthly challenges where students come up with their own and different ideas to perform the best. These challenges help the students to build up strong team management skills. This also helps the students to maintain good coordination among them.
Straw bridge challenge was the first monthly challenge of the academic year 2019-20.
The challenge required the students to make a strong bridge with the help of straws and plaster which should hold as many numbers of coins as possible; the team whose bridge holds a number of coins becomes the winner of the challenge.
Almost every student participated in this challenge. Even, the parents were involved in the challenge by giving the ideas or any suggestions to their child. On the day of the challenge, parents also were invited to visit the school and know about such events. Parents visited the challenge and got to know more about the monthly challenges.
“I felt very happy to come here and watch the challenge. I can find many students supporting and cheering up their sections. I have found different designs of the bridges. They were very much interesting. Even I am much eager to know the results. This will help the students a lot in coming up with their skills,” said a parent of Tejaswi of class 8.
A total of 48 models were made by the students and one from each section was selected by their respective class teachers for the final competition.
“Children showed great creativity which I feel is difficult even for adults to think that way,” exclaimed Laxman sir.
Presidency management is going to conduct many such monthly challenges. The students here can come with brilliant ideas which will help them to improve their communication skills and even their thinking ability. These challenges also help them gain knowledge and even problem-solving skills.
Good luck with the coming challenges!
