Presidency students were given an insightful talk by Rajeev Tummala on the importance of communication, and the short workshop was enjoyed by teachers and students alike!
Now residing in Singapore Rajeev gave up his time to visit Presidency High School to conduct a special workshop on communication skills. The intention of the workshop was to focus on the ability to communicate effectively and to discuss the skills that constitute effective communication.
The students were challenged to sit in the middle of a circle and talk about a subject of their choice for 1 minute – which sounds easy, but why not try it at home tonight!
Rajeev said that, “The openness and the enthusiasm that everyone at school displayed did amaze me. The energy and enthusiasm from the students definitely made both the sessions a great experience”.
The students then discussed why communication is important, students work very hard on their academic skills, but there is little in the curriculum that focuses on personal skills that are crucial in any profession.
Rajeev said that, “I also hope there will be a communication module in the school in future for the students in classes 8, 9 and 10. I hope to help/work with the school on its design. More importantly, I was impressed with the openness with which the school management approached these small sessions”
Presidency thanks Rajeev for his time and hope to have him back soon.
