Presidency High School has been ranked as the number 1 state board school in Telangana, and ranked the 10th best in the whole of India by Educationtoday.co.
The Indian School Merit Awards look at a number of criteria before ranking each school. Presidency scored highly in a number of key areas, including; Leadership Management,Innovative Teaching , Academic Reputation, and Individual Attention to Students.
Shravya Reddy, Director of Creative Learning, accepted the award on Saturday night in front of hundreds of educators at the national awards ceremony in Bangalore. Shravya said, “We were honoured to be ranked no.1 in the state, but to be in the top 10 in India is a fantastic achievement, I would like to thank all the parents and the jury for voting for us”.
This accolade shows the direction that the school is taking, Shravya believes that “To get national recognition means that we must be doing something right, our innovation in curriculum and the processes we have implemented to transform a traditional education set-up is one reason why we are ranked so high”.
Shravya also said that “Here at Presidency, we place an emphasis on social-emotional learning and make sure our lessons truly contribute to holistic development of the child”.
Students are given the chance to connect via international collaborations and guest speakers from around the World which help show the career and life options available. “These extracurricular activities increase the exposure of the staff and the students alike to the outside world, and provide the access to interact with professionals from different industries.” said Shravya.
Outside of the class room students events are directly linked to curriculum outcomes that bridge the gap between school and home. Presidency host numerous parental fun evenings, these involve the whole family in the transformation of child’s learning process – “We conduct parent education days on various topics to help raise lifelong learners”.
From a school which began just over 20 years ago with 30 nursery students in a single room, Presidency High School will be opening their third facility in 2018, and can now boast as being one of the finest institutions in Telangana and the Nation.
