Guests were taken to “Infinity & Beyond” during a weekend of Maths. Friends and family had their skills tested with various games and challenges all linked to having fun with mathematics.
Stalls were lined around the school grounds and each attraction had a famous mathematician at hand to help solve the problems and give out special prizes. Parents and children tested their skills playing various games, from maths tombola, maths puzzles, speed challenges and many many more. In fact over 30 stalls were manned by the students, who had worked hard all week to have everything ready for the gates to open at 10am!
High school students prepared all the equipment throughout the week and in the evenings they practised to make sure the games worked. Presidency high school maths teacher Suresh said “from the past 10 days every child from 6th to 10th class came up with a different idea, with the support of teachers they planned the activities you see today”.
Asked how today’s event went Suresh said that “Parents had appreciated the skills shown by the students and the hard work behind each activity”. He also said that, “Today is a great day to us because we get to exhibit our maths skills, we are all very excited and happy.”
